Südbahnhofmarkt
Originally, the Südbahnhof was indeed a railway station.
It served as a stop on the horse-drawn railway connecting České Budějovice (Budweis) and Gmunden.
Since 1949, the site has been home to the Südbahnhofmarkt – Upper Austria’s largest farmers’ market.
For many residents of Linz, a weekly visit to the market is a cherished tradition.
Immerse yourself in the variety and freshness of regional products.
The market is open Monday to Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

The Jindrak shop at the Südbahnhofmarkt was the company’s first branch after the flagship café on Herrenstraße.
It was founded in 1979 by Leo Jindrak II, father of today’s company owner, Kommerzialrat Leo Jindrak III.
Even today, the café retains a special atmosphere and a touch of nostalgia – a small oasis of calm from which you can watch the colourful hustle and bustle of the market through the window.
Enjoy a cup of coffee and choose from our wide selection of homemade pastries, which we’re happy to pack for you to take home.
A local insider tip for a little getaway at home:
There’s no better place to watch the cheerful bustle of the market than with a good cup of coffee in our small, cosy garden terrace, located right in front of the shop during the summer months.
